🎶 I had a unique experience recently when my friend Wayne, the Director of Music in Barker College, asked me to take on a HSC student who had just transferred from piano to voice. At first, I thought Wayne was kidding, I was yelling at him that singing is not the backup choice for instrumentalists.
Wayne convinced me to meet Ethan. He is a very humble and diligent boy. I was determined to help him, knowing that time was limited with only one term left before his assessment. Our strategy was to work with what he had and select repertoire that would highlight his strengths, which were limited as he had never sung before. Ethan worked tirelessly on improving his support, phrasing, and confidence in such a short time. It was the toughest HSC case I have ever worked with, but I am impressed by his dedication. Here’s a clip from his school for his HSC assessment, and I am incredibly proud of how far he has come in one term. Well done, Ethan! 🎤 👏 #HSC #VoiceAssessment #HardWorkPaysOff #ProudTeacher #MusicEducation #VocalDevelopment What is unfair adventage?
I have such unfair privilege. Although Covid positive sucks, I have flood of messages from students and parents. Pile of food from parents and friends. The most expensive and rare covid medicine from China and Taiwan are at my door within hours from students s mum and my friend Junie. Thank you so much. The medicines and food I have received since yesterday enable me to open a pharmacy and small grocery store. I will be up and running in no time. (PS: Today as entertainment I call westpac and NAB to negotiate investment loans rate. Do that guys if you have covid and got time to wait and talk. A Phone call that will save you thousands of dollars. My first day covid activity. If any of you got covid after me, I know how to look after ya and will pass on the medicine ! “Check out Isabella’s progress ! 🎤🎶👏
We have been using audio and video recordings to track her improvement.. In the past, Isabella struggled with a nasal sound and lacked consistency in her chest voice to bridge. Now, you should be able to hear the sound is more “free” and secure cause knowing how to manage vocal cord closure and the balance of air/sound is very important. Greatjob, Bella! #VocalTraining #Progress #Improvement #ProudTeacher #IsabellaRocks” |
